Over the last several weeks, I have listened to hundreds of Beatles covers. After reading several threads about the best and worst Beatles covers, and after reading several newspaper articles on the same subject, I decided to listen to every cover I could find.
I started to make a list, which grew and grew, until eventually I had to put it in order. I was amazed at the huge amount of covers, from such a diverse group of people. Everyone from: Elvis Presley, Elvis Costello, Frank Sinatra, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Elton John, Liberace, Bing Crosby, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton, One Direction, etc. I realised that practically every Beatles song, from Love Me Do through to Real Love, had been covered, either in the studio or live, by well known or cult favourite acts.

A handful of them have only been covered by other professional acts a couple of times, but many of them have been covered many times. Anyway, I am going to post the list below, just so that we have an orderly list of covers of every Beatles song, and to make it easier in future to find covers of a certain song. Some of the covers are excellent, some of them appalling, many of them are humorous (and not always intentionally), and some of them are incredibly weird (Mae West singing Day Tripper?). I have not listed every cover of every song (there are literally thousands of covers of Yesterday for instance), and if you find any not on my list, please post them below. Some of the covers are only fragments, such as when Nirvana used to jokingly sing Beatles songs when the power went out at their live shows, but I still thought that they were an interesting inclusion.
Michael Jackson singing a bit of Dig It in the studio was also a surprisingly interesting listen. I have also included a few songs where a Beatles song was sampled in another song. I hope that you enjoy listening to them, and please post your opinions, whether positive or negative, about each cover. I have been very impressed that so many other singers and groups have covered the Beatles songs; it really hammers home how huge they are. I have also been surprised that so many acts from the 40's and 50's have covered them, as well as many of today's young singers, from Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, One Direction, Emeli Sande, Eliza Doolittle and Paloma Faith.

Many well known actors have also covered them, and I have also included these in the list, although I have intentionally ignored Glee and the Across The Universe film covers, because I don't see them in quite the same way. Finally, I have also listed the times where acts like the Stone Roses, the Velvet Underground and Queen incorporated the riff from certain Beatles songs into their live shows or jamming sessions, just because it interested me. I have heard 95% of the songs, mainly on the internet, but a handful of them are only available on albums that I do not have, or on albums that are about to come out (The Flaming Lips version of Sgt. Pepper and the Art of McCartney album). Thankfully these albums are coming out soon, so we won't have to wait long to hear them.
