Contents • • • • • • • Plot [ ] Dev Karan Singh (), a and ambitious painter deep in debt, agrees to marry Anita (), the daughter of Singhania (), a rich tycoon. Priya (), a music teacher for children, is engaged to Raj (), whom she has agreed to marry because he had helped her when she was in need. Priya and Dev meet on a cruise and fall in love.

However, due to them already being engaged to other people, they agree to work everything out and meet in 6 months on Valentine's Day to get married. Priya forbids Raj from telling Dev, not wanting to become a burden on him. However, both Dev and Priya still love and pine for each other.

Though heartbroken, Dev continues his career and goes on to become a famous painter. One day, Priya attends his art exhibition and wishes to buy a painting of his, a sentimental picture of her speaking to his beloved grandmother, whom Dev had introduced to her during the cruise. Dev had said that he would not sell the painting as it was only for Priya, but upon hearing that the girl who wanted it understands the emotion behind the picture and is disabled, he tells the host of the exhibition to give the painting to her for free.

One day, he visits Priya to give her an anklet that his grandmother, who recently died, had wished for Priya to have when she became Dev's bride. Karan Dev Singh and Priya Verma are to get married to their respective partners but before this could happen Karan who is a flirt manages to meet with Priya on a cruise that hails from Singapore to India. They meet, fight, befriend each other and eventually fall in love fully well knowing that their life partners are waiting. When it is time for their departure they agree to go about their lives without communicating with each other and promises to meet after a year. When it is time for them to meet Priya meets with a road accident which prevents them from meeting. Mann is in my honest opinion one of the best films of 1999.

It is at first a very nice, light romance which later turns into a sad and emotional drama. The story is very beautiful and is reminiscent of the 1965 classic 'Arzoo', the music is fantastic, and the acting is very effective. Among the songs, 'Khushiyan Aur Gham' is one of my most favourite songs ever.

Aamir Khan delivers an excellent performance. Although he is not very convincing as a womaniser, he is very good as a suffering lover. I think the best thing about his acting at that point of time was his simplicity and restraint, and that he never tried to do more than required (as I said, at least until that point of time).

Manisha Koirala gives an amazing performance. Tutorial See Electrical Expert Pdf. She is intense, compelling and moving as always and does not at any point try to victimise her character. The film's big tragic twist is a tough moment to see, a moment which makes you realise how unexpected life can be and how important it is to cherish every moment of it. This is a wonderful and touching picture.
